Solid Interface

This works fantastically on my Mac Mini.Mic Preamps: clear and transparent, both with condensers and dynamics. Max gain is around 60dB. With input volume knob turned 90%, you can do noise-free whispers on an SM57, just to give you an idea of the gain range.Hi-Z Instrument Input: gain starts at +13dB, causing clipping when direct-recording an electric guitar with passive high-output pickups. This is a design limitation on many audio interfaces. The solution is an active or passive DI box, or turning down the volume pot on your guitar.Also, at first I thought the instrument input sounded dark and muffled on guitar and bass compared to my previous interface, but turned out the previous was really hyping the signal through treble boost and compression. So the Saffire is actually more honest and even in representing the input signal, meaning it works better with software-based guitar amp simulators, whereas the hyped interfaces result in a scratchier and thin sound. Post-EQ can take care of any perceived darkness both for direct guitar and direct bass, without degradation or artifacts.Headphone Output: also relatively flat frequency response. My previous interface was hyping the trebles on the headphone out, making it sound harsh on certain headphones. Not the case with the Saffire. I tried both 32 ohm and 200 ohm headphones, and it drives both well. Not loud enough for DJ's in clubs, however. But more than loud enough for mixing and tracking purposes... any louder and you risk hearing damage.Stability: on my Mac running Snow Leopard, haven't had a single glitch.Software: I only installed the Mix Control panel. It lets you route audio in various ways, switches between line and instrument inputs, etc... It's very lightweight and loads fast. You'll have to read the manual to learn it fully, but once you do, you'll realize how powerful and useful it is.Construction: similar to any rack console. It's a half-rack chassis, body is made of steel, front panel of plastic. Knobs are plastic, pots are smooth. Doesn't feel cheap or anything. LED lights are green, not blue (thankfully).Sound: As I said, the mic pre's are clear and transparent. No muffled, sterile, hissy, cold, grainy, etc... traits that afflict poorer interfaces. Vocals sound honest and direct. I recorded an acoustic guitar and likewise, it sounds recorded as it does in person. Tip: even if you record at 44.1 kHz, use 24 bit instead of 16 bit because it helps with dynamics and headroom and lowers the noise floor.In conclusion, overall this interface does everything I need, and does it well. As I said, the only potential downside is clipping with electric guitar, which requires a DI box unless you roll down the volume pot. I'm running my guitar through a tube preamp though, and there's no clipping with that since the preamp output is more regulated than the wild fluctuations of a straight pickup.What else... firewire beats USB, due to greater bus power available. The Saffire comes with its own optional power supply, but I'm not using it, relying on firewire bus power instead. The Saffire is FW400 by the way, so you'll need a 400 to 800 adapter if your computer only has an 800 port. One gotcha is that, although it's not absolutely necessary, Focusrite advises against hotplugging or hot-unplugging. In other words, to be 100% safe you have to plug or unplug the box only when the computer is turned off. I've done it anyway without ill effect, but wince every time I do.Anyway, this box is pretty affordable for what you get, and is worth the step up from cheaper interfaces that cut more corners. I won't be upgrading my interface for a very long time.

Hardware is great. Software & support could use work.

I bought this breakout box to replace an aging M-Audio interface (1010 LT, I think it was). I wanted the external box so I could have easier access to inputs & outputs, and because I needed a shiny new toy. After comparing reviews and prices, this box seemed like the perfect option. High build quality, nice specs, separate monitor / headphone outputs, and a software mixer for different routing options.Aside from some initial technical difficulty -- buying a new firewire card, routing/recording issues, latency issues -- I managed to get the product working just fine. However, I don't understand why I had such issues to begin with. Even my ancient M-Audio card worked perfectly without any modification on my part. Was it the firewire? Was it the useless mixer software that doesn't exactly route audio the way it's supposed to?I had to contact Focusrite's tech support on a couple issues, and they were all but useless as well. The first issue I had with latency resulted in a canned message suggesting I check out a couple of videos. Thanks guys, I didn't know I had to plug the unit into the computer! My second issue was that my recording software (P-head Record) allowed me to do zero-latency monitoring, but outside the program I had a delayed signal in my left speaker. Their response? "I'm not sure what you mean by zero latency tracking." WHAT? The term "zero latency tracking" is supposed to be one of your features! It's in all the literature! And, big surprise, they attached a link to a tutorial video. Worthless.BOTTOM LINEIf you are adept at self-troubleshooting and don't mind working out a few bugs, you will find a sweet spot and really enjoy this hardware. Frequency response is beautiful, the hardware is made with high quality materials, and Record works flawlessly with it. I did have some issues trying to record internally (ie, from one program to another), but that's not my primary use. Minus one star for lack of tech support and a frustrating mixer program (just set your latency and ignore all the other settings), but overall still a great buy.

Works great (Mac Pro, Firewire)

The Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 works great on my Mac Pro. At the time of writing, using Mac OS 10.6.7. Directly accessible from apps, or the Mac's standard I/O. You can also use the Saffire Pro's headphone jack for audio out.I got poor quality input using the default settings in Bias Peak Pro. But perfect audio with the Adobe SoundBooth.You can power with the included power adapter, or it will also power via firewire.Input from from a dynamic mic worked fine, though I needed to set the gain near the max.

TRANQUILITY!

This was approximately my fourth try at finding a "just right" tabletop fountain, after throwing out or giving away all the others because they were either too noisy (from the sound of the motor), too unstable (one had a heavy slab of rock that tended to slide off the curved rod it was supposed to hang from), or simply broke after a short while. This one is quiet, stable, and still working well after many, many hours of use!It's not 100% perfect: It does splash quite a bit, so keep that in mind when deciding where to put it! Also, it came with a horrible resin smell that has only gradually dissipated with use.This fountain is very attractive - more so than t appears in the picture. It's larger and heavier than many table-top fountains, which gives it a more "substantial" look than most, and because it is so natural-looking, I find - surprisingly - that it does not look out-of-place even in a room full of antique-look furnishings. The fact that the glass-like towers that support the three top tiers light up when the fountain is on makes it even nicer.I find that there is nothing more relaxing than sitting in a quiet room with only the sound of this fountain. If you are considering purchasing an indoor fountain for tranquility, I strongly urge you to do so, and would recommend this fountain as a top choice.

It worked for a short while... Too bad....

[Like] it works!, came with a 'real' stone ball; looks nice overall, no flimsy plastic pieces; motor noise is there - but not too noisy, I can still hear the water flow over the motor.[dislike] the smell!! Is it the rubber tube?? the glue?? I don't know what it is, but it's got this chemically, rubber-like funky smell that is pretty strong and very unpleasant. Hoping that it will disappear with time. Hence the 1 star short of 5 stars.It needs some adjustment in finding the right water flow speed; once you do, the splatter will not be an issue. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice table top water fountain :)***Update after 12 days of use**** after using it for 12 weekdays for 8 hrs or so at a time, it stopped working. This morning I tried to turn it on, nothing. Not even a buzz. I've asked the seller for a replacement motor. Will see if I get it. It's really unfortunate because I REALLY like the fountain. It looks nice and while it worked, it was REALLY nice. :( I've reduced the stars to 2.

Excellent Tamiya Ford Bronco Kit

This is a great kit. The body is made of a of single-piece vacuum-molded clear polycarbonate which flexes easily and has to be painted. It comes with super bright LEDs, two white for the headlights and two red for the taillights. The chassis is designed extremely well and goes together with few hours of dedicated work and the right tools. It comes with a motor and an ESC (Electronic Speed Control) and even comes with lighting circuitry for the headlights and taillights! You have to buy your own transmitter and receiver, though. I would recommend this kit to anyone who wants to get into the hobby of R/C trucks and doesn't want the cheap R/C cars sold at the Big Box Stores.

Excellent pole for the price

I took some pole classes this year and was eager to get a pole at home to practice what I learned in class. Did my research and yeah I know Brand X is superior but I didn't want to invest a lot of money at the time. Not knowing whether or not I was going to stick with pole dancing, I got the CE Pole on sale and it was great. It did take a while for me to get the hang of setting it up. The written instructions are a little confusing so watch the DVD.I set the pole up in an archway in my house because my ceilings were too high (saw someone do that on youtube). After a few wild swings and jumps on it just to test it out, I felt secure using the pole. I weigh a little over 200lbs--no problems or concerns with stability and strength. I used the pole for a few weeks and was even working up to some sits and climbs with no issues. One day, I didn't take the time to set it up level--instead of using my trusty level I just eyeballed it-- and crashed and broke my pole (thankfully not my butt too!). I have no one to blame but myself. Whatever you do, don't EVER skip steps in setting it up. Like any other portable pole make sure it is level or it will fall.Too bad this pole does not offer replacement parts or extensions; but, a spinning pole for a little over $100 including shipping you can't beat the price. My only other complaint is the fact that the pole doesn't have a sleeve at the bottom to cover the gap where the screw part lifts toward the ceiling. Without a sleeve, newbies like me without a lot of lower body strength may find this painful on the ankles when sliding up and down. No regrets. If I had to do it over, I would still buy this pole.Yes, the pole dance community will tell you not to waste your money and save up for a higher grade pole. But, like cars, sometimes you just want a little something to get you from point A to B until you can save for a Cadillac. Just my 2 cents. This is an excellent pole for the price!

Pretty Awesome

This pole is a breeze to set up. I did it on my own in about 20 min. And I didn't even screw the ceiling plate into a stud. I did however make sure that since I pressure mounted it, that I did mount it against the stud. I did take it down and put it back up to make sure it is portable as it says it is. This pole holds my weight just fine and I weigh about 130lbs. So far no issues. After a few uses, I will post another review.

Not For Serious Pole Dancers

This pole is great if you are looking for something to travel with a lot, or if you just want to pop it out at parties. But for someone who really wants to delve into the pole dancing arts, stay clear of this pole and go for an x pole instead.First, the base of the pole is this long black plastic piece, and gets in the way of many twirls or transitional moves. It also looks pretty tacky, not going to lie.Second, it's not sturdy enough to handle a lot of use. That's why it would be great to use ocasionally. I've had it two months and it has started making this clicking noise when I use it.... And I can kind of tell its falling apart already. The material of the pole is also much more slippery than the poles I use in class. Especially if I use it a lot, it heats up quickly and it's really hard to get good grip.Third, when I took it down it took a chunk of my ceiling with it. Seriously, I wish I could upload a picture. But I guess on the bright side of that, you know the top piece is sturdy even without screwing it into the ceiling, I literally had to pry it off.The design is just not durable. But! If you aren't really serious about pole dancing and still want a pole, I recommend this because it's cheap and it works.

Es un reloj mediocre.El display digital no es de buena lectura y en el manual de operaciones no esta documentado el procedimiento de cambio de hora y fecha para el chip que equipa este modelo.La terminacion del cuadrante es mediocre.La parte trasera tiene dos tapas para la pila de la seccion digital y otra para los analogicos.Pagar mas de U$S 100.00 por el no tiene sentido.Resumen : un reloj que si tienen la necesidad de triple horario no esta mal pero no va a ser la estrella de la coleccion.

Balance is a state of equilibrium or equal distribution.  In our case it’s an Ed Schempp folder that is symmetrically identical on both ends when the folder is closed.  Odd looks aside, when held in the hand it’s ergonomically proportional and a natural fit. The VG-10 blade is full-flat ground and arcs upward a radical curve with a deep finger choil.  When the index finger is positioned in the choil, the cutting edge aligns with the forearm moving the blade’s weight back and the center of gravity toward the cutting edge where it responds like a natural extension of the hand. The enlarged Spyderco Round Hole is dead center on the blade when closed and perfectly off-centered when open, positioning the thumb for flowing one-hand operation, justifying the name Balance. Handle scales are gray carbon fiber and assembled with screws for cleaning and adjustment.  Four-way, left/right, tip-up/tip-down hourglass clip, clips discreetly in a pocket.  Piped lanyard.  Symphonic fit and finish.

Not a fan of the balanced design

I own several Spyderco knives. This is my least favorite. The quality is excellent as always and the design is visually interesting but the balanced design makes it hard to get the open direction correct with one hand. If I can remember which end is open, then opening with one hand is OK given the small size of the knife.Same issue with the integral blade lock, hard to do one handed or without looking. The Ladybug back lock is much easier.

I am giving it 4 stars because I feel it is a bit expensive for what you get. It does flick open, with practice and is a great little knife. I like my dragonfly2 better, yes I know that is a different kind of knife. It is so small in my pocket I fear I may lose it...I do like the angle of the blade. I could not think of a higher quality knife this size.

ugliest knife I ever saw

If beauty is a deal-killer for you then move on. This one is the wart on Spyderco's hinder parts. However if utility turns you on you may find a whole lotta knife in a very small package. I don't like the looks but once open in my hand I appreciate its capabilities.

Long, smooth locks every time!

I purchased this iron after reading many user reviews for this one, the green & black Paul Mitchell, as well as other brands (such as CHI). My roommate has the green & black which initially turned me on to Paul Mitchell, but then some users said they actually liked this iron as much if not better than the other...and the price difference was significant. After having the iron for almost a month now I have NO COMPLAINTS! It really does created magazine-smooth hair, without sucking the volume out of my strands. It heats up fast and I love having the extra long cord; and the 1.25" plates are perfect size! Having used the green & black one, as well as other "high-end" brands, I have to say this is hands down the best flat iron I have ever owned OR USED.I promise you won't be disappointed with this purchase.

Best Flat Iron I've Ever Used!

This is an awesome flat iron. I have relaxed hair and it glides through my hair with complete ease. There is a temperature control, so it's more than just an on/off switch unlike other flat irons. There's also no tug and pull of my hair, which I love. My hair doesn't have the "I just flat ironed my hair" (burnt) smell either. I love this iron much more than any Chi.

I've had this for over a year and I love it. I've used a Chi for years and they always broke just as the warranty went out. The Paul Mitchell was a great buy. It keeps my hair straight for 2 days with out having to touch it up.

Very high quality

Very high quality. Solid stainless steel, so you won't have the finish wear down to brass. Larger and beefier than I expected. One problem is with use in the sprayer mode. It is a bit loose around the interface of the plastic and the stainless steel within the sprayer unit. This allows a few divergent streams that can cause squirting where you don't want it. I fixed it with a little carefully applied clear marine glue.

Quick drain. zero fuss!

I have been a constant water bed user since the 70's (yes, I'm older than I look. (smile) ), and I must say that this kit has made me love my water bed even more, (if that's possible). The kit came complete with all of the attachments, hoses, connectors, chemicals and most importantly the electric pump. I used to use the water in, water out method, which worked well but used extra water and took about 3 or 4 hours; this time I drained my king sized water bed (not a California King a "regular" king, circa 70's) in about 90 minutes! No extra water used, probably $2.00 in electric use, lots of time saved.So in conclusion, $150.00 for the pump, $2.00 in electricity, 90 minutes in time, the ease of draining my water bed and time saved.....PRICELESS!!!If you have a water bed and not a lot of time, this kit is for you.

Decent quality, but less of a bargain now

This is a well-made sink, consisting of thick stainless steel. It comes very well packaged and with some nice touches such as the cloth bag and the towel, which give it a classy feel even though they may not add much.There are a bunch of 5-star reviews on here. I noticed after looking at the item's price history, that these were left before the recent 25% price increase. So it's worth pointing out that the value-for-money element has diminished slightly. Reviews left at varying price points are misleading, so I want to note that my rating is based on having paid $250.For me this is a decent sink, and worthy of 4 stars and I can see from it why, before the price hike, people thought it was a 5-star item.

Kraus Stainless sink

My Wife loves the new sink, top of the line and just what she wanted. The price was outstanding and more resonable than I expected. Everything was as stated and in perfect condition. Great product and deal. Consider that the different displacements on the sink drains will cause a significant reworking of the pipes from a replaced sink but that isn't a point against this product but may require a plumber to install, as we did.
