Whenever we need something we try to look at commercial offerings first. Here's a case where the strategy worked for us. Most commercial immersion blenders would be insane for home use as they're huge - up to thirty inches long - and very, very heavy. But this little guy, the smallest in Waring's commercial line, is just right. It's far sturdier than the Calphalon we're replacing and far stronger. I've only used it twice so far to make big slow cookers full of Palak Paneer, and this may not be a really tough test, but it far and away out performed our old Calphalon which we bought because it had such good ratings here at Amazon. This is far better and gets the job done much, much faster - which is the whole point. I used to transfer the yummies to a food processor which could only do about a quart at a time without leaking all over. So it was a lot of work and a lot of cleanup. This guy does it quick and easy and the cleanup is very, very easy. Awesome widget, and I wish I'd bought it first.

By lkwennv
I bought this Waring immersion blender after reading other reviewers comments that it was more durable than the Kitchenaid immersion blender (I had broken a gasket on it and it wasn't fixable). Although you can't remove the stick/tip from the base/motor, it still cleans fairly easily.

By Monique Failer
I bought this to puree baby food. After reading reviews on other immersion blenders I decided on this one because I wanted something durable. It works great and gives a really smooth consistancy, just like store bought baby food. I gave it four stars because you have to hold down the "on" button the whole time you are pureeing which can be hard on the forearm. It cleans up easy enough and the motor isn't too loud.
