Big Girls, Little Girls and Collectors All Love Muffy!

I started collecting Muffy and Hoppy, and all her friends back in 1996. My daughter was 9-years-old and was also into American Girls. We both fell love with Muffy and Hoppy's charm. They had so many outfits and accessories. I have to admit that I had almost as much fun dressing them up. We would dress the gang up for the different holidays and time of year and display them throughout the house when my daughter and her friends were not playing with them. We, er, she, had the bedroom set, the piano, the rocker, a table and chairs, plates, cups, flowers, gardening tools, the horse, dog, cat, pig, etc... She had the case with beds and extra hangers to hang the dozens of outfits and store the many shoes.As you might expect, when she reached high school and we moved, Muffy and pals went into storage and my daughter even sold most of the larger Muffy furniture with her Beanie Babies at a garage sale and made serious bank. My husband and I closed our storage unit a few months ago and I rescued Muffy's trunk. I found Hoppy and all the animals and outfits as well as a few pieces of furniture. They are in pristine condition.My two oldest granddaughters are obsessed with "Moppy" and "Floppy," as they call them. They are 3-years-old and 6-years-old. You can imagine how the detailed outfits and shoes hit all their buttons. Yes, I have to referee the arguments. Thankfully, there are plenty of over-the-top frilly custumes for both. After 16 years they look brand new. Everything has held up perfectly.Muffy and her entourage were never cheap, but the hours of entertainment are worth the money and the quality is high. I wish that items were more easily available and still in production. I am debating getting a set for their home or keeping the novelty for when they come over to visit - which is often thankfully.Be warned. You will be addicted to Muffy. She brings out the little girl in everyone.
