Great design!

First off, this helmet is a great idea! I like that the smoked and the clear shields are folded up into the helmet; great concept! I was a bit disappointed however when I tried them out; for some reason, when I wear the helmet without glasses, the shields created a whirlwind vortex aimed directly at my pupils, threatening to dry out my eyeballs like raisins. I should confess that I am not used to wearing a half helmet, or beanie as I owned a 3/4 helmet with a fold down full face shield. I was not ready for the wind pulling at the helmet making me work my neck harder to keep eyes on the road. This was all my first impression on the very first ride...After wearing this helmet to and from work each day for the hour long ride, I have to say that I really like this helmet! It is lightweight and keeps my head cool, even in the hotter days that I have ridden to work (upper 90's). I have also found that while I wouldn't recommend using the shields without goggles or glasses, they keep the helmet from catching the wind so much, making the ride so much more pleasant (you know, since you don't have to fight the wind to keep your head from lolling around.) The shields also have the added benefit of protecting your glasses or goggles from bug splat, which is always a good thing. I haven't tried the included cheek warmers, since, well it's hot as blazes out right now, but I would think they would make the ride a bit quieter, since the straps seem to cause a bit of wind noise. I don't mind however, since I regularly wear earplugs while riding.I guess in summary, I have to say that this helmet was a really good buy for me. There are a few drawbacks, but as I wear it each day, they seem less important than when I first wore it.
