I bought this bike for my son's 3-year birthday. He loves it. While the box did not include instructions, the bike was NOT difficult to put together. Unless you are completely clueless mechanically, that should not be a problem. It includes a small wrench for easy assembly.I chose this bike for a number of reasons:PRICE: I didn't want to spend $190 for the Specialized HotRockBRAKES: The brakes are the standard coaster brakes (push down/back on the pedals to stop) needed for a small child who is learning to ride (I felt a handbrake would have been a problem at this age)QUALITY/NAME: DiamondBack quality is pretty good and the bike is lighter than the crap you find at a WalMart-type discount store.Overall, this will last him a few years and is a good bike for learning how to ride. The Specialized is better quality of you're willing to spend an extra $75 (they only sell through local dealers). Mine was not missing hardware and the stickers were applied just fine. Don't hesitate! Great deal.

By Richard P. Mcdonough
Diamondback are nicely made bikes. Rode one for a week in the desert and it was terrific. HOWEVER, three missing pieces of hardware, combined with a miserable instruction book for assembling, and some supplementary photos on a sheet of paper, photos that were not visually meaningful for the purpose, gave me two hours of heartburn and improvisation. If I had been able to buy this bike assembled locally I would have.

Just purchased this bike for son who recently turned 3. He has been on a Strider for the last 10 months and has practically mastered it. This bike is perfect... it's a little tall and a little heavy, but it doesn't seem to bother him. My husband put it together in 30 minutes, and it took another 5-10 minutes to adjust everything to my son. Totally worth the money, and great quality. !
