Gransfors Bruks Tove Wrecking Bar Product Description:

Product Description

The TOVE-wrecking bar is made of specially alloyed spring steel. The overall bar is tempered for extra strength. The key characteristics are: 1. Extreme strength in relation to their length and low weight. In tests performed by the National Swedish Institute for Materials Testing, the wrecking bars were found to withstand extreme strain without yielding. 2. The chisel end and the nail claw end are both sharpened so the edges can easily be wedged behind ledges, planks, moldings, etc. 3. Both the chisel end and the nail claw end are designed with a broad surface to provide minimal damage and marring to the working head. 4. The nail claw has a precision angled V-slot design to allow nails to be pulled regardless of the size of the head. 5. Lifetime Guarantee. Manufactured since 1942.

5Best Bar . . . Bar None
By Robert W. Chambers
I build log homes and teach log home construction (I am the author of the Log Construction Manual: The Ultimate Guide to Building Handcrafted Log Homes and the DVD series Building Log Homes -- Box 1, Log Walls -- with Robert W. Chambers and builder of a scribing tool ChambersScriber -- Ultimate Log Home Scribers), and these bars are without equal. We own long and shorter bars, and they are all great. Seems funny to be so enthusiastic about a pry bar, but this tool deserves praise. The bar is stiff and strong. You can apply pressure carefully and precisely. The steel is tempered full-length, and gets quite thin at the working ends (which is great for reaching into tight spots). And I have not had to sharpen or touch-up our 5 Tove bars in the 14+ years we've been using them in a commercial log building yard. Plus both ends are shaped just right. Great balance, these feel good in your hands. Other bars feel sloppy, heavy, and stupid compared to these.I know one log home company that gave each of their yard staff one of these bars as Christmas presents . . . and not one man complained! Expensive, and worth it. Try one, and you'll see what I mean. 5 stars, at least.

5A Girl's Best Friend!
By Karla Pfennig
Amazon was just a river for the first 15+ years I have owned these wrecking bars. Now 3+ decades later, they (the 36" and the 18") are still going strong. I have renovated homes, moved rocks, broken through concrete, positioned cabinets and appliances... you name it and I have used them for it. The thin tips are indestructible. Since I work alone it is imperative that I have a strong and balanced pry bar.I have convinced several friends to buy one and no one has regretted it, even as expensive as they appear to be! I was looking to find one again for a friend when I saw the first review! I couldn't agree more, both of us are waxing poetic over these bars!

5a bar you will never part with
By F. Saviers
Absolutely the best bar I have ever owned (24 and 28"). It is incredibly tough, balanced just right, and light compared to the competition. Easy to use for a days work. The thin tips make demo easier and the pry leverage/geometry is perfect for nail pulling. I had to buy several as presents for friends/coworkers so mine was available for me to use. My first bar was bought in 1980, is still in use, and was privately branded. It took a bit of searching to find the real maker. A great Xmas gift.
