Product Description
Holding 6-1/2 liters, and 3 liters, this attractive WMF Perfect Plus dual pressure cooker set will cover many of your cooking needs at once. The lid that accompanies the set will fit either cooker. Our pressure cookers will handle a variety of recipes and offer many conveniences to simplify both use and cleanup. Made of heavy-gauge 18/10 stainless steel, the main chamber offers strength and durability, while a polished exterior shine gives it an eye-catching appearance. A Trans Therm base evenly distributes heat and offers excellent high-temperature retention. The black phenolic handle is ergonomically designed for comfort and resists heating; additionally, it easily detaches to simplify cleanup. In the event that excessive pressure begins to build up, an integrated advanced safety feature system audibly indicates the need to reduce heat. Pressure cooking lessens cooking time and preserves vitamins and minerals for healthier meals. Includes recipes.

I bought this thinking it was the European model but apparently US import restrictions do not allow pressure cookers to go over 15 PSI. Reviews you may find online about a 20 something PSI model are the European model. Some have suggested replacing the top part of the handle with the European model and I found them being sold on Ebay, but the pot is not as strong, the pot has been known to separate from the Transtherm base, and they do not honor their warranty if this happens (according to another review here and my phone conversation with WMF). They assume that if the base separates it is because you overheated it and the warranty does not make this exception clear. That is why I'm rating two stars. This one does not come near to 15 PSI and so I would have rather gotten a Kuhn Rikon. On the other hand, even this one holds a lot of pressure and it is a bit dangerous. The instructions warn against this but I used to cook oatmeal with it until the valve sprung open spewing boiling hot oatmeal forward for maybe 20 seconds. If the rim is at all oily or dirty it can leak pressure and you are supposed to depressure and scrub it clean which is time consuming. The gasket might last longer since this is lower pressure model. It is easy to overcook things like broccoli. This was a nice deal with two pots and one lid. I use them both all the time. The removable handle is nice. I'm not sure how you would clean one without a removable handle.I use this with the Max Burton 6000 1800-Watt Portable Induction Cooktop (also purchased from Amazon). It will usually hold pressure and not whistle (pressure releasing) on level 1 or 2, sometimes 3 (out of 10 power levels). Sometimes when I have it on 2 or especially 3, after maybe 5 minutes it will heat to the point that it will start to slowly whistle. This is when cooking something that takes a long time to heat through or depending on room temperature. Usually it will stay somewhere between whistle and pressure loss for 30 minutes on 2 or 1.It would be nice to have one that you set and forget but according to Miss Vickie you can't get the one's with a built-in heating element without nonstick coatings and being a single unit, they would be more difficult to clean. I also use the small pot to fry in. Heating is even with the Transtherm base. With a little oil scrambled eggs don't stick. I use it so much, instead of cleaning it I pressure cook after frying and that cleans it. Just have to keep the rim and gasket very clean! This could get a higher rating but I feel the company is being deceptive with the warranty and not making it clear to online buyers the differences with the European model from the reviews on other websites.

I'll be the first one to admit I was a big chicken when it came to pressure cookers. I guess it's natural to fear what you don't understand. Well the WMF Perfect plus pressure cooker is so simple even a baby (or in this case a chicken) can use it.There are all sorts of safeguards built into the design that prevent over pressurizing the cooker as well as prevent newbies like me from opening the cooker before the internal pressure has been normalized.I love it and probably use it once or twice a week now. The unit is built very sturdy. I like that it includes a pop-up gauge to help me establish the appropriate pressure (med/hi) for my dishes. Unlike the pressure cookers I've seen in the past that hiss and click and scare me to death, this cooker runs quiet. The removable handle also makes cleanup a cinch.
