Good materials, nice finish, some inperfect joints

I was very impressed by the quality of materials in this unit, given the price point it's at. The top is solid hardwood (oak by the look of it), and all pieces but the back panels are substantial (these back panels are thin, but get the job done). The veneer is high quality, and looks quite natural on the door pieces, and other areas where it's used. The hardware is high quality and feels solid.The only real complaint I have (other than insufficiently specific assembly instructions, which ended up having me assemble things backwards once or twice) is that some of the pieces don't fit together snugly, which leads to some gaps at a few joints, and some difficulty getting the entire assembly together seamlessly. Once it was totally assembled these weren't majorly noticeable, but close inspection definitely shows different sized gaps in a few places.All in all it's an amazing value at 550 dollars, with ample storage and a very nice finish. If you spend a little bit of time test-fitting all the pieces and do some work to fix up any gaps it would easily be mistaken for custom-built cabinetry.
