By armyofdux
I expected this to produce better quality water than it has. Readings taken with a TDS meter are indicating otherwise. My source water (city chlorinated water) is measured on average 200 tds (total dissolved solids). After following the flush procedure and installation directions to the letter the best I can get out of this is 12 TDS. Should it not be around 0-1 TDS? I expect better quality out of a unit that claims near pure water.

By Jim
The Reverse Osmosis unit itself gets 5 stars, the deionization filter doesn't function at all. First one I had was ruptured and leaked resin into the water. I received a replacement from the company and the resin on the second wasn't functioning either. I refilled the filter with an aftermarket resin and BAM good to go. I cut down some sink aerator screens and stuck them in the output fitting on the deionization filter to ensure no more resin enters the water. I then swapped the input fittings on the deionization filter and taste filter so it would go through the deionization filter first. The taste wasn't quite right yet, so I put one of the alkalinity filters after the taste filter and now I have some of the best tasting water I've ever had, right from my tap.I did a battery of tests to prove the resin wasn't functioning, but I don't feel like typing all the TDS, Cl/Br, Hardness, etc. tests that I ran. I informed the company, they're looking for a new resin.UPDATE: I changed my review to 5 stars since I've been contacted by the company and informed that their resin problem has been fixed. I still recommend putting the DI filter before the taste filter and adding the Alkalinity filter they sell on their website 123filter. I can't confirm this personally - but you should be getting 0ppm TDS at the end of the system with one of your cheap $20 and under TDS meters. If you have a new system and acid or alkaline water, TDS readings above 0, etc. then it is not functioning properly and contact the company - customer service is pretty good there.
