5Great guitar, totally worth it.
By Yamz
I disagree with the other review on this guitar - have to call BS. I found my Imperial to have an exceptionally bright sound with a smokey, resonating tone.I have two amps that I play it through: a Fender Princeton Chorus which I use for slide guitar work - AMAZING SOUND, and plays like butter (driftwood? Pfft.). For a rock, I used an Orange Tiny Terror with an Ibanez tube screamer; again, great resonating tone similar to old ZZ. I ran the latter through a 2x12 Rectifier from Mesa Boogie. There is no way in hell that a Schecter import beats this guitar. I'm telling you the quality rivals that of USA models. Try it out, it's that good! I couldn't be happier.

5DBZ Imperial
By Kevin
I have been a Les Paul guy for a long time but when I saw this guitar the design was so intrguing that I had to buy one. It has since become my favorite axe. The neck shape is a perfect soft V, the edges of the fingerboard are rolled and the frets work is on the money. It is also very resonate, unplugged the acoustic response reminds me of a cross between a Les Paul and a 335. I really like the body shape as well, it is very comfortable sitting or standing and like a 335 your arm rests nicely across the body. Plugged in it has a very good variety of tones and has excellent sustain. All I can say is that if you are thinking of buying this guitar for the money you will not be disappointed, just by it.

5Terrific value .... great sound
By Thomas Pierno
After a multi-decade hiatus, I re-started playing guitar again. Had no clue of what I wanted for a guitar, but did not want a guitar with overly hot pickups. I was attracted to this DBZ design and found it to be less of a crunch instrument than others. This guitar fit the bill perfectly, and looks great to boot. Though DBZ is relatively new, Dean B Zelinsky has been a rainmaker in the guitar world for a very long time (eg: Dean Guitars). His designs are creative, attractive, and very playable. At my current level of playing skill, Mr. Zelinsky's guitar could only help my playing, not hurt it.The Imperial arrived the other day and is truly a beautiful instrument. Cherry Sun Burst looks far better in person than on website pictures. Unexpectedly weightier that one might think for it's thickness, the guitar has incredible sustain and also can be played without an amp because it resonates so well. Fit and finish were perfect out of the box, with the exception of a very small maple knot showing on the top of the trim surround. Certainly not a manufacturing defect, just nature getting her say on how this guitar would look close up. Sort of like a beauty mark. :)The Korean's must be commended for their attention to detail. The build quality is as good as my Hyundai Vera Cruz and Kia Optima, as well as some American built guitars I suspect. All kidding aside, they built a wonderful guitar. Bravo!I use a Fender Mustang 1 for amplification, and the guitar shines! It has a large range of tones using no amp modeling whatsoever. The DBZ humbucker's are a good compromise between an over-driven sound and a more '60's' natural sound. With amp modeling engaged the guitar can become a crunch behemoth with no effort! That said, I think it does especially good for jazz and pop-rock.What I find truly comfortable is the neck. It is supple and not too wide. Fretwork appears perfect. Not a burr or rough spot to be found, and each fret rings well. No buzzing - anywhere. The larger body feels quite comfortable and the narrow profile allows you to pull the body real close. Feels very ergonomic, if you can say that about any guitar.I bought my Imperial guitar during a clearance sale, and got is for about 32% of list, delivered. Could not pass it up at that price. In fact, I feel fortunate to own it at any price. My DBZ Imperial will be with me for a long time, I just cannot put it down.A Happy Camper.
