Couldn't Be Happier

Even after the other 5 star reviews, I had my doubts. How delighted to find the new unit is identical to the original. I inspected the replacement in detail, side-by-side with the original. Only difference are some internal markings on the plastic showing a Taiwan manufacturer as opposed to Toyota.Someone said 10mm box end wrench & a Philips screwdriver? 10mm wrench enough. 2005 Prius anyway. Two nuts are loosened, then easily spun of the stud with fingers. Make sure the connector & wiring is situated in place. Spin the nuts back on with fingers. Snug them up with the wrench.A little awkward with the small access hole. Flashlight helps to identify the studs & nuts positions. It's mostly by feel. This is a 10 minute job.

Arrived quickly. This replacement tail light assembly includes the brake light LEDs. It's made in Taiwan and the quality is similar to original. Fit is good and installation was easy. I'm very happy with the purchase - except for wishing Toyota used a regular replaceable $2 bulb for the brakes instead of integrated LEDs.

I'm a little bit mad that Toyota couldn't make the LED brake light replaceable. There's no great reason for that.But this light is absolutely indistinguishable from OEM. It even says Stanley on it.Not a hard replacement. I understand the dealer gets about $300 to replace a brake light on a Prius. Well, this reduces the job to under $75, if someone you know is good with a 10mm wrench has about 30 minutes to spare.Very good product. I received mine very well packed within 48 hours. This is the way to go.
