Great door
By LOVE IT!!
In all fairness you should know we use this pet door between the main house and the garage so it isn't exposed to the elements. However, our garage isn't heated and the weather got down to 0*F this winter. We purchased this door when we realized our old one was letting alot of cold in/heat out. This door is extremely insulating and I don't feel any draft with my hand.

This pet door works well for my purposes. My 12 lb strong male cat learned to use it very quickly w/a little behavior modification, guidance and praise for trying it out. Becuase it is a 3 layer - type door (for insulation purposes) and somewhat heavy, some timid or frail small animals might have trouble w/it. My cat's litter box is in the garage so my handyman installed the pet door in the door of my laundry room that opens into the garage. This way, I avoid having a smelly litter box in the house. I live in a mild four season climate so the insulation works very well for my needs. The door is well made and my handyman said it was relatively easy to install. There is a video about installation on the PetSafe website. My handyman decided to install the pet door from the garage side and without taking the door off. You will need to be handy or have a handyman to install this pet door. This door should work fine for most small pets. My cat has been successflly using the pet door for several months now.

A little harder to install then I have to admit for a single female, but once I figured it out, perfect for my two 12 pound dogs to go in and out on their own.
