Excellent hitch carrier!

I suffer from horrible buyers remorse, so I tend to research 'everything' prior to paying money for it. In this case, I looked at just about all of the hitches available and ultimately went with this one for a couple reasons.First, it's made of aluminum, so Much lighter than those made of steel without sacrificing strength, as well as rust proof--only the 2" shank is steel. Second, this carrier was half the cost of most others (and I was able to pick it up at Harbor Freight and avoid paying shipping).It sticks straight out from the hitch, so I bought an extension with a 6" rise that helps a lot. I ordered a 48" Rola cargo bag from Amazon that fits this carrier like a glove. We can now keep all of our luggage and miscellaneous 'stuff' on the back of the car, freeing up the equivalent of an entire trunk for other things (dogs/kids/diabetic cat and litter box). It makes traveling a much more pleasant experience. :)

Aluminum Cargo Carrier for Receiver Hitch

This cargo carrier was all it was advertised to be: light, easy to assemble (easy, but not fast - lots of little bolts), inexpensive, and ... did I say light? I mounted it on the back bumper of a Casita travel trailer, which is made of extremely light weight metal. The perimeter rails make it so you almost don't have to tie down your load. Good buy.

I'm surprised this is not listed in more places, unless it is exclusive to Harbor Freight (dot) com and then resold here by independents.Love the weight, the sides, and the rust resistance.We traded my mini-bed pickup for a Highlander (darn kids) and needed a way to get stinky garbage to the dump without ruining the inside of the HL. Found this for less than $70 including shipping and it was a steal.For short trips, it does everything the more expensive versions do and 1/2 the price.Small issues:1. Lots of bolts/nuts to install2. Hitch post and Carrier mount holes are way bigger than the two bolts supplied.3. Very loose fit in the 2" hitch. If I were taking it on longer trips I would get anti-vibration pin.5 Stars for a great product.
