Dasuquin SOFT CHEWS with MSM for Large Dogs

So glad Amazon is finally carrying Dasuquin SOFT CHEWS "with MSM" for Large Dogs.I've been paying $10 more thru my vet since Amazon was only carring Dasuquin SOFT CHEWS...but not "with MSM".Here is the literature about MSM:MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) demonstrates clear benefits as a treatment for joint pain relief. Each chew contains 900 mg of glucosamine hydrochloride, 800 mg of methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), 350 mg of sodium chondroitin sulfate and 90 mg of avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (ASU).Not sure how it's working on my 80 pound GSD but she's now 7 years old and since this breed is suceptable to joint problems I figure safe than sorry.She also eats it right out of my hand as a treat.Because it's a chewable, afterwards I also give her a CET Enzymatic oral hygiene chew with "Dual-Enzyme System to remove plaque and prevents the buildup of harmful bacteria."(Virbac) for extra large dogs at night to clean her teeth & gums since she won't let me brush her teeth.

You cay buy glucosamine with MSM from Costco to help your mildly arthritic dog but for owners who want to give their dog a treat instead of a pill, or for owners of dogs with advanced arthritis, this stuff is perfect. The product also has a special avocado-derived ingredient which seems to work wonders and isn't found in any other product that I'm aware of. If you can afford it, please buy this for your dog.

Dasuquin

We have 3 Afghan Hound rescues and the oldest one, a female is about 12 or 13 years old and starting to have problems getting up and down steps. We also have a 9 year old male and a 5 year old male so we decided to give the chewable Dasuquin to both of the older dogs. We have heard great things about Dasuquin but unfortunately neither one of our 2 older dogs will go near them. We tried to crumble up the product in their food bowls and this worked for the male but not the female. She absolutely will not eat her food, which is extremely unusual for her as she loves her food. To cut the large chewable item into pieces small enough to put down her throat is just not worth it so we have discontinued use of the product. We have no idea whether it would have worked or not if they had eaten it but I just wanted to share our experience with others.
