Best hot weather boots out there

These are the best hot weather boots that I know of. I wore out a previous model, Vento Mid, after 4 years in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan. They're light, but the soles are really sturdy and provide excellent support for all the large gravel they spread around the bases in Afghanistan. They're vented really well and I can feel the air flowing past my toes from the mesh on top. The wraparound sole also makes these more sturdy than most popular "mountaineering" brands and they don't blow out like Merrill hot weather boots. They're finished out really well and the lacing system is perfect.Bottom line: they're light, comfortable, sturdy, provide excellent support and they look good.

Not as good as they used to be, but still pretty good.

Maybe I just got a bad batch, but these didn't seem to be up to the same quality standards that Lowa boots usually are. I'm being very picky of course, as they are still head and shoulders above most boots anywhere near the price range.One thing to note: They need some serious breaking-in before you wear them for anything serious. They fit a little tight at first like most Lowas, but don't be fooled into buying a larger size. Break them in properly and they will mold right to your foot. I had a small amount of rubbing due to the shape of my foot, and my toes were almost uncomfortably pinched together horizontally for about the first week.They're a little stiffer than the Lowa Men's Zephyr Mid TF Hiking Boot that made Lowa famous with troops in hot weather, but they breathe almost as well and look less space-age. More importantly, they don't scream MILITARY or CONTRACTOR.After the break-in, they fit like a pair of socks, and I'm almost tempted to buy another pair for when these wear out.
