fleece bibs

Love these bibs! Probably my single, most functional piece for New England riding. These are great from November through March/April on all but the coldest days. Fit is Euro with snug thighs/hips (5'10", 165) and the thermal component which is red will show through over any bent joints, but straps are comfortable and they wear great. Bought a second pair after a season with my first b/c this is one of those products that IMO is a staple.

I've been looking for some good knickers to make my winter commute a bit more pleasant. First tried Sugoi and Pearlizumi, at around the same price as these Castellis. The Pearlizumi Pro Thermal Bib Knicker is decent but nothing to rave about. The Sugoi RS Zero has some significant flaws (such as inadequate leg grippers, resulting in the fabric pulling up above the knee, and slight pilling of the Lycra after just one ride - they are going back).I'd been wary of Castelli because I've had trouble getting a proper fit in the past.Ordered one size up as advised by many other reviewers of Castelli bibs/shorts, and the fit is perfect (for reference, I'm 6', 185 lbs, and ordered XL).Given that these knickers are in the same price range as Sugoi and Pearlizumi they are a significant step up in quality.I also have used Descente and (my current favorite) Santini bibs. Couldn't find any knickers made by Santini, but find these to be comparable in quality if not quite as good a value.Well-made, comfortable, warm, and stylish. From what I can tell, stitching appears to be be top-notch, Not sure how durable they will prove to be so may revisit this review after I've had them awhile.But so far, compared to what else is out there in this price range ($120 - $130) these are a good deal, highly recommended.

Super Nice!

Go one size up! I'm 6'1", 170lbs with 31 waist riding in 50 to 65F weather. . Large was way too snug (but not impossible). Got it exchanged to XL and was much happier. Now, 200 miles and five washes later, it's gotten just a smidge looser, but fine. I just figured it out- I need to wash the bib in a mesh washing bag- dammit!That said, the bib is very comfortable, chamois rocks, strap is just really smooth and doesn't chew into my shoulders like my Capo does. Bad Capo!Only con is the mesh on the back-side doesn't breathe/wick that well, but you only notice it when you come off the bike.Would I buy it again? Yes.
