Gransfors Bruks first-class full size axe for felling trees and sectioning logs is based on a classic Colonial American pattern. The straight handle is 31": long and provides and easy "slide" for the handle through the hands, so is best when working with no bystanders. The head with 4-1/2" face weighs 3 lbs. The Swedes are the world's greatest axe enthusiasts, and Gr?nsfors Bruks is one of their finest forges. Each axe is carefully forged by an experienced smith who shows his pride in his work by stamping his initials on the head next to the company logo and each smith is introduced in the booklet that accompanies every Gr?nsfors Bruks axe. After forging, each blade is ground to a 25¡ bevel and honed to a razor edge handle with care! Each axe is fitted with a tight-grained hickory handle and provided with a grain-leather sheath with snap fastener.

Exceptional quality

I bought this for my son-in-law for Christmas and he LOVES it. It is the finest ax he has ever owned and he reports that it is well balanced, very sharp, and shortens his work time. I'll be looking at Gransfors Bruks hatchets for gifts in the future. He says he will be passing this on to his son one day (his son is 2 yrs. old) so I expect it will be in the family for a very long time.It arrive promptly and was simply, but effectively packaged.

I received this axe a few days ago. It was so perfect out of the box that I was afraid to use it. Today I finally did. I have been manually clearing brush off of a 1 acre spot of my parents land that had been cleared before but has gotten reclaimed by woods over the past 20 years. If Gransfors made a brush axe I would buy it so fast their head would spin. I used this axe to cut trees down mainly for exercise since I could just go grab the chainsaw if I wanted. I like the heft of this one. It's a good weight for me. And it makes trees beg for mercy. Cut a 8" walnut in about 15 minutes. It cuts deep with every swing and as far as I'm concerned the metal is the best you can find. There's not a better axe you can buy in the world. Besides another Gransfors. Don't get me wrong I've used Council as well. There's no comparison.

Well-balanced, sharp, well-built, and pretty to look at. Dang what a fun axe to use! Watch out trees!, ima gone come cut you down!.... conservatively ;)
