I got the Viper 13 for myself and the Verve 10 for the wife. As one of the other reviewers stated, think small in terms of capacity size. Another reviewer stated that his sternum strap was defective as they were off center from one another. These slide up and down on the shoulder straps for a customizable fit. That said, we LOVE these packs. Extremely light on the back, we can pack everything we need for a full day on the trail, the magnetized bite valve and sternum strap is pure genius, and there is no water sloshing noises from the bladder. That last one is kinda picky but when I'm out on the trail I'm there for the peace and quiet. Aside from nature, I don't want to hear anything else. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this pack! Period.

By F&Mboy
I recently bought this to replace my NF jester when i don't carry around - such as days I'm not carrying laptop with me (The jester gets cumbersome on bike rides/hikes). I took it on a few rides, one hike, and a couple days to work (i've had it about ten days and I love it) and it has been great. The helmet harness is perfect for when you lock up you're bike, the open mesh compartment for an extra article of clothing, waterproof compartment for phone/wallet. It sat light on my back, and the hydration pack is plenty for a day hike/bike without a refill. I did put some ice in the pack at the beginning of the trip and it didn't seem to have any negative impact on the performance. It think the Viper 13 has an extra pocket compared to the smaller models and I am happy to have it. Five stars.

By Greg Grimes
I've got both the 10 liter for my wife and the 13 for myself. These are supremely compact packs, I found the 10 is just enough for one person to carry two meals and some basic equipment. Again think small on the 10, the 13 adds an additional pouch and helmet storage( though I use this to store my quick grab items and a jacket. The three liters of water should meet and exceed a 12 mile hike need, in fact I've done 14 and only drank 2 of the 3 liters. The one drawback is the main pouch (and only pouch on the 10). It's not expandable beyond the width of my fist, it's fine if your food is pouched but canned or prepackaged items that are air filled will be very difficult to fit in here. That's really just a planning issue and not a big one. Basically I love this pack, it's lifetime warranty and it's insane light weight design.
